The Forge has been designed to look and feel like a small Scottish chapel, yet the Forge has no religious background or ties.
The Forge has no altar, instead it has the anvil, the traditional symbol of Gretna Green.Take a walk down the aisle to be married over the anvil in one of our candlelit ceremonies.
The Forge wedding venue is located in the grounds of The Mill hotel 2 miles from Gretna Green, which is close enough to be touched by the romantic history of Gretna Green, yet far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle of wedding and tourist traffic.
The candlelit ceremonies may be performed either by a Minister for a religious ceremony or a Registrar for a civil ceremony.
The ceremony would take place over the anvil which is the traditional symbol of Gretna Green.
The grounds of The Forge & The Mill offer many different locations for photographs. There is The Forge garden, the kissing gate and the Gretna Green sign to name but a few.
